I n the south of the province of Burgos, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, is located the village of Gumiel de Izán. In 1326 it was declared Royal Village by the King Alfonso XI. With medieval route. It is a historic and artistic whole.

In the town centre and next to the parish church of Santa María, which was declared Historic and Artistic Monument in 1962, is situated the subterranean Winery Renalterra.

This winery, according to our information dates from the 14th century. It has been restored respecting the raditional syle and has been equipped for aging, bottling and labeling wines with guarantee of origin Ribera del Duero (D.O.Ribera del Duero). The wines are produced with grapes of our own vineyards, of the “tempranillo” variety, which is carefully selected.

These wines are produced with dedication and passion, they are hadmade and traditional wines for being sampled with all senses.
